Coachella 2018

Do I want to go to Coachella?
I mean, Beyonce will be there. Queen! Snatching wigs! Also, I believe it would be a great experience for me to go party in California, meet new people and whatnot. I can already imagine myself in a yarn bralette with a flower crown ingesting all of the finest drugs that Cali has to offer. A great chance to meet new people as I am sure people come from all over the world (World? United States?...) to attend this festival.

On the other hand, I am just not the type of person who enjoys being around millions of people for extended periods of time. I enjoy meeting new people, dancing, and smoking grade A weed. However, this is not necessarily the time for networking, this is not the time to force conversation or friendship, and this is not the time to “try” to come out of your shell. This trip may cost you over $2000! You are willing to spend that much money to go on a trip for a chance that you will have a good time when you can’t even enjoy a small party for more the two hours? I do not think this is a good idea.
The thought of this is great but not for me. I need to understand that I am just not the kind of person who enjoys partying and I don’t care how old I am. I often get the saying “You are young, you should be going out”, “You are young, you shouldn’t be staying at home”, “You are young, go have fun”. I get it, young adults have more energy, are more attractive, and it is just a good time to experience things as you may not have kids/marriage responsibilities. YET, this is 2018 and I am living in a different America and I am not the kind of person who can just ignore how shitty this world is. I have utility bills that no one is paying except me, I have rent, car insurance, health insurance, phone bill, gas, student loans, and I have to find out where my next meal is coming from. I have more important things to spend my money on than a fricken concert where I might only see the silhouette of the one person I am going to see. Not worth it.
My income does not factor in inflation and it has not for quite a few years! And I just rather not be around a bunch of smelly/sweaty people bumping into me for three days. Nah, decision made, I won’t be going. I’ll see you via internet Queen!
