Earth: Where currency prevails

How does one live in a world so revolved around greed and envy? Is it enough to ignore and let it resolve itself? Do you step up and create change? Literally, how are you dealing with it? Do you even realize it?
With already knowing capitalism is what drives most of the evil in this world, I watched a movie called “The Founder”. For a brief synopsis, this movie is about a salesperson who comes across a restaurant ran by two brothers. The salesperson encourages the brothers to franchise the restaurant and eventually the salesperson becomes the “founder” of the restaurant. The movie was described as “a bad guy who embodies the American Dream - a man who isn't necessarily the best or most talented but who's willing to step on anyone to get ahead.” I also viewed a few episodes of “Dirty Money” which made me realize that it is not an American thing but greed; people will literally “step on anyone to get ahead”. This is too much to ingest because it is the polar opposite of who I am but I did begin to think that maybe instead of beating them, just join them.
Pondering on how I should change, what I needed to do, and who I needed to use to get to where I wanted to be. Beginning to think how much better life would be if I emulated the people who did anything for that extra buck. I could move to New York, get a great executive job in the corporate world, have a penthouse that overlooks the city, and live all my wildest dreams. However, it is not feasible for me to intentionally rob, steal, or hurt someone for money nor status. So where does that leave people who are not willing to dismiss others? The people who obey the rules, are considerate, caring, and not willing to cut corners.
The creation of cars, food, our technology, etcetera does come with a cost and it is not just monetary. Our health is at stake because of these new processes that corporations are using to cut corners to increase that bottom line. It is not ignorance but the lack of empathy that the top 1% has for good, regular people. There are people diagnosed with illnesses because the toxins coming from nearby factories or farms. Most of these people are unable to afford the healthcare before nor after the diagnosis and then they are paid off or ignored when they try to bring awareness to these issues. The corporations ignore poverty, illness, and the disenfranchised because it does not affect them.
We had a president who changed so much for the better and just a few months after his exit, those changes began to revert so is it worth putting an effort to improve the common well-being of society when the majority does not care? I understand the importance of money but the importance of people should be first priority because a society of one person is not a society. We would not have discovered so much if not for diversity of people and their ideas. It does not matter if I contribute to the work to a better world and hope for the best because the negative is what is in control and has been forever. I envy people who are able to focus on the good in life because their ignore game is so strong. Please teach me your ways as I am unable to do this adult thing and still have a positive outlook on life.
